Capture Notes by Email
Sometimes the fastest way to save a thought is to fire off an email. Now you can do exactly that — send an email to yourname@the-commonplace.com and it shows up in your inbox as a note, ready to organize later.
The subject line becomes the title. The email body becomes the content. That’s it.
How to enable it
- Go to your dashboard preferences
- Turn on email routing
- Start sending emails to
yourname@the-commonplace.com
Only emails from your registered address are accepted — anything else gets quietly dropped.

The browser extension is great when you’re at your computer, but ideas don’t always happen at your desk. Email is everywhere, and now it’s a capture tool too.
